Contemporary Glass Veranda in Berkshire

Contemporary Glass Veranda Installed for Client in Berkshire

When first seeing this contemporary style patio it was crying out to be roofed with a glass veranda. The client had already developed a defined and furnished seating area, with twin patio heaters, but often found the patio off-bounds with rain, or sitting damp for many hours following wet weather. They’d previously commissioned custom made furniture covers – but commented how much work it was to remove and refit these (especially for short coffees) and that water from the covers ran onto their seats during removal. A veranda would be the solution, nicely accompanying the atrium glass roof of their adjacent dining room.

Objectives

The roof is to provide easy everyday use of the patio space. Installation should take into account this homes architectural castellated brick details; standing 15mm off the wall corner, and fitting neatly into the castellations at the rear. Crucially, location of the verandas leg posts must appear a tailored fit to the dark inlay of this existing granite patio.

Conclusion

The customer was delighted with design, commenting how it looked as though the veranda had always been there! It also created a connection between both bi-fold doors; expanding the downstairs space and routes in which to wander. With leg posts precisely fitted to the granite inlay, and the roof fully sealed to the side (despite the architectural brick stand off) this glass veranda in Berkshire now makes a stylish addition to our Elegant portfolio.
